Well first trip of the year didn't start very well to say the least. Was supposed to be flying via London to Stockholm on Thursday 18th Jan to go to a whisky weekend at Friiberghs Manor [ http://www.friibergh.se/ ]. Thursday morning, left Campbeltown, got halfway up the road and the snow started. Lots of snow. Made it to Glasgow airport (with only a few scary moments!) to find that all flights via London were cancelled due to storms and high winds. So stranded in Glasgow overnight (better than Heathrow I suppose) then got the first flight to Heathrow at some ridiculous time in the morning. Got to London, sitting in the departure lounge and the fire alarm went off. Couldn't believe it! Luckily was a false alarm so made it to Stockholm only a day late.
Once I eventually got there though the weekend was great. Friibergh is a really picturesque setting and Susan and Patrik excellend hosts. I was there hosting some tastings at their Whisky weekend. Pictures of the tasting to follow but in the meantime here's a photo of Friibergh Manor grounds - the snow started on the Saturday night and just kept falling. Fortunately Sweden seems more accustomed to severe weather than Scotland so no delays going home!
